Introduction: low back pain is the most common musculoskeletal complication. Although there are many ways to treat low back pain, achieving a concise, simple, and compact method is required in today's industrial societies. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of six weeks selected core stabilization exercises on pain and functional disability in patients with nonspecific chronic low back pain. Materials and Methods: 20 patients with nonspecific chronic low back pain (10 male, 10 women) with the average age of 24.55±3.4, average height of 164.15±9.6, and average weight of 65.25±5.04 underwent a six-week selected core stabilization exercises supervised by physiotherapist.    مقاله    Journal of Lasers in Medical Sciences  جلد ۶، شماره ۴، صفحات ۱۵۷-۶۱

Tarek Ammar Department of Basic Science, Faculty of Physical Therapy, Cairo University, Cairo, Egypt

Introduction: Low back pain (LBP) is the most common musculoskeletal disease. Monochromatic infrared photo energy (MIPE) and low level laser therapy (LLLT) are light modalities used to reduce pain and increase blood flow. The aim of this study was to compare the effects of the MIPE and LLLT in reducing functional disability and pain as well as improving lumbar range of motion (ROM) in patients with chronic LBP. Methods: Seventy participants with LBP completed the program and were randomly assigned into 2 groups. Group 1 (n = 35) received MIPE and therapeutic exercises. Group 2 (n = 35) received LLLT and therapeutic exercises. Both groups received 2 visits per week for 6 weeks. Outcome measures were functional rating index (FRI), visual analogue scale (VAS) and modified-modified Scho...

Saeed Moradi Department of Endodontics, Dental School, Dental Research Center, Mashad University of Medical Sciences, Mashad, Iran

INTRODUCTION: Many patients suffer from mild, moderate or severe pain during or after root canal therapy. Theoretically, post-operative pain control can be achieved by using long-acting local anesthetics. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of a long acting anesthesia, bupivacaine, on preventing post-operative pain associated with endodontic treatment, and to compare it with lidocaine. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This study was a double blind and randomized clinical trial on 30 patients' anterior maxillary teeth. The patients were divided into two groups of fifteen. One group was administered lidocanine (2% with 1:100000 epinephrine) local anesthesia and the other group was given bupivacaine (0.5% without epinephrine). The pain in patients were compared using the visual a...
