چکیده
A growing number of oil and gas offshore infrastructures across the globe are approaching end their operational life. It is a major challenge for industry to plan make decision on decommissioning as processes resource exhaustive. Whether facility completely removed, partially removed or left in-situ, each option will affect individual parties differently. Stakeholders’ concerns needs collected analyzed obtain most compromised decision. Engaging with hundreds stakeholders extremely complicated, hence time-consuming costly. This issue can be addressed using predictive model provide suggested options based data previously approved projects. However, lack readily available relevant datasets main hindrance such an approach. In this paper, we introduce new dataset extensively covering all types in UK landscape over 21-year period. An experimental framework several learning algorithms predicting presented. Various resampling methods were applied tackle imbalanced class distribution improved classification. Promising results achieved despite exclusion some stakeholder-related features used traditional shows signs potential solution significantly reduce time cost spent project, encourages more efforts put into researching timely topic.

Evaluating alternatives for decommissioning California's offshore oil and gas platforms.
This paper introduces a series of 6 additional papers in this issue that describe an in-depth analysis of options for decommissioning oil and gas platforms offshore southern California. Although current leases require lessees in both state and federal waters to completely remove all production facilities and restore the seafloor to its pre-platform condition, other options have emerged since th...
متن کاملA multi-attribute decision analysis for decommissioning offshore oil and gas platforms.
The 27 oil and gas platforms off the coast of southern California are reaching the end of their economic lives. Because their decommissioning involves large costs and potential environmental impacts, this became an issue of public controversy. As part of a larger policy analysis conducted for the State of California, we implemented a decision analysis as a software tool (PLATFORM) to clarify an...
متن کاملDecommissioning of offshore oil and gas facilities: a comparative assessment of different scenarios.
A material and energy flow analysis, with corresponding financial flows, was carried out for different decommissioning scenarios for the different elements of an offshore oil and gas structure. A comparative assessment was made of the non-financial (especially environmental) outcomes of the different scenarios, with the reference scenario being to leave all structures in situ, while other scena...
متن کاملA semi-automated approach to generate 4D/5D BIM models for evaluating different offshore oil and gas platform decommissioning options
Background: Offshore oil and gas platforms generally have a lifetime of 30 to 40 years, and platform decommissioning is a major issue because many of the existing offshore oil and gas platforms are reaching the end of their service life. There are many possible options for decommissioning offshore oil and gas platforms, and each decommissioning option can be implemented using different methods ...
متن کاملModel-driven Platform for Oil and Gas Enterprise Data Integration
The necessity of data interoperability is very important for the oil and gas enterprise environment. Different information systems and applications cover the range of the IT infrastructure and need to interoperate. Most of the industrial companies do not have common rational strategy for their automation. That leads to the lack of integration between purchased and implemented software that is n...
