چکیده
Abstract Tandem in situ and isotope dilution U-Pb analysis of zircons from pyroclastic volcanic rocks both glacial non-glacial sedimentary strata the Pocatello Formation (Idaho, northwestern USA) provides new age constraints on Cryogenian glaciation North American Cordillera. Two dacitic tuffs sampled within glacigenic lower diamictite interval Scout Mountain Member yield high-precision chemical abrasion zircon eruption depositional ages 696.43 ± 0.21 695.17 0.20 Ma. When supplemented by a detrital maximum ≤670 Ma for shoreface offshore sandstones unconformably overlying diamictite, these data are consistent with correlation to early (ca. 717–660 Ma) Sturtian glaciation. These 670–675 persist beds above upper cap dolostone units, up including purported “reworked fallout tuff,” which we instead conclude only ≤673 epiclastic detritus. Rare as young 658 provide units. This geochronological framework supports litho- chemostratigraphic correlations intervals (716–660 Marinoan (≤650–635 low-latitude glaciations, respectively. The thus contains more complete record glaciations than previously postulated.

(U-Th)/(He-Pb) DOUBLE DATING OF DETRITAL ZIRCONS
Geochronology and thermochronology on detrital material provides unique constraints on sedimentary provenance, depositional ages, and orogenic evolution of source terrains. In this paper we describe a method and case-studies of measurement of both U/Pb and (U-Th)/He ages on single crystals of zircon that improves the robustness of constraints in each of these areas by establishing both formatio...

abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...

Post-caldera volcanism: in situ measurement of U^Pb age and oxygen isotope ratio in Pleistocene zircons from Yellowstone caldera
The Yellowstone Plateau volcanic field, the site of some of the largest known silicic volcanic eruptions, is the present location of NE-migrating hotspot volcanic activity. Most volcanic rocks in the Yellowstone caldera (0.6 Ma), which formed in response to the climactic eruption of 1000 km3 of Lava Creek Tuff (LCT), have unusually low oxygen isotope ratios. Ion microprobe analysis of both U^Pb...
