A Very Easy High-Order Well-Balanced Reconstruction for Hyperbolic Systems with Source Terms

When adopting high-order finite volume schemes based on MUSCL reconstruction techniques to approximate the weak solutions of hyperbolic systems with source terms, preservation steady states turns out be very challenging. Indeed, designed must preserve under consideration in order get required well-balancedness property. A priori, capture such a state, one needs solve some strongly nonlinear equations. Here, we design easy correction methods. This can applied any scheme greater than or equal 2, as MUSCL-type scheme, and ensures that this exactly preserves solutions. In contrast usual techniques, our avoids inversion function governs Moreover, for underdetermined solutions, several functions considered simultaneously. Since derived only considers evaluation governing functions, are able deal stationary systems. Several numerical experiments illustrate relevance proposed well-balanced correction, well its main limitation, namely fact it may fail at being both more second-order accurate specific class initial conditions.
