چکیده
The present study aimed to measure and compare anatomic parameters in contralateral maxillary second molars. A total of 18 intact molar pairs (n = 36) extracted from patients were scanned with micro-computed tomography (micro-CT) then reconstructed. Axial, sagittal, cross-sectional slices used analyze the (lengths, widths, thicknesses) evaluate symmetry right left sides. number root canals their internal patterns classified following Vertucci’s classification. lateral locations also noted. Contralateral demonstrated a high degree similarity terms linear measurements thicknesses). canal anatomy configuration mesiobuccal, distobuccal, palatal roots according classification 41.1%, 88.2%, 94.4%, respectively. In total, 41.6% mesiobuccal roots, 2.7% distobuccal 30.6% had at least one canal. apical third (38.7%) was most frequent location canals, followed by middle (32.3%) root. This provides insight into molars, which is valuable for both practitioners researchers.

متن کاملReduction of ring artefacts in high resolution micro-CT reconstructions.
High resolution micro-CT images are often corrupted by ring artefacts, prohibiting quantitative analysis and hampering post processing. Removing or at least significantly reducing such artefacts is indispensable. However, since micro-CT systems are pushed to the extremes in the quest for the ultimate spatial resolution, ring artefacts can hardly be avoided. Moreover, as opposed to clinical CT s...
