Arctic amplification has already peaked

چکیده
Abstract It has been demonstrated that the Arctic warmed at almost four times global average rate since 1979, a phenomenon known as amplification. However, this rapid warming is tightly linked to retreat and thinning of summer sea ice, so may be expected weaken transitions seasonal ice cover. Here we show evidence from gridded observations climate reanalysis amplification peaked sometime in early 2000s. This occurred concurrently with maximum loss area, thickness, volume. From CMIP6 projections CESM2 large ensemble see unlikely high again any future point 21st century except lowest emissions scenarios which temperatures stabilize while continues warm.

Developmental competence of oocytes grown in vitro: Has it peaked already?
In vitro growth of immature oocytes provides opportunities to increase gametic resources and to understand the mechanisms underlying oocyte development. Many studies on the in vitro growth of oocytes have been reported thus far; however, only a few cases have been reported, which demonstrated that oocytes can support full-term development after in vitro fertilization. Our research group recentl...

Purpose – In MIP, Vol. 25 No. 1, Mike Saren argued that academic marketers need to move beyond our “traditional managerial and business confines”. This paper aims to suggest that the discipline is already on the move in that direction, and that social marketing is in the vanguard. Design/methodology/approach – Commissioned as a viewpoint, with permission to “think aloud”. Findings – The paper s...
متن کاملArctic tropospheric warming amplification?
Relative rates of temperature change between the troposphere and surface, and the mechanisms that produce these changes, have long been a contentious issue. Graversen et al., predicated upon the ERA-40 reanalysis, report polar tropospheric amplification of surface warming and attempt to explain this finding dynamically. Here we show (1) that data from satellites and weather balloons indicate th...
متن کاملEvidence of high-elevation amplification versus Arctic amplification
Elevation-dependent warming in high-elevation regions and Arctic amplification are of tremendous interest to many scientists who are engaged in studies in climate change. Here, using annual mean temperatures from 2781 global stations for the 1961-2010 period, we find that the warming for the world's high-elevation stations (>500 m above sea level) is clearly stronger than their low-elevation co...
