Arguments and architectures: Discursive and institutional structures shaping global climate engineering governance

The Anthropocene is giving rise to novel challenges for global environmental governance. barriers and opportunities shaping the ways in which some of these complex become governable on level are increasing academic practical relevance. In this article, we bring neo-institutionalist post-structuralist perspectives together an innovative framework analyse how both institutional discursive structures bound shape governance thinkable practicable face new challenges. We apply explore climate engineering – large scale, deliberate invention into system being shaped by three international forums: London Convention its Protocol, Biological Diversity, United Nations Environment Assembly. illustrate that ‘degree fit’ between made (un)governable each forums.
