Assessing the Productivity of Forest Harvesting Systems Using a Combination of Forestry Machines in Steep Terrain

Despite similarly steep terrain, the productivity of forest harvesting operations in Japan is lower than Central Europe. Harvesting systems are typically characterized by four production processes felling, yarding, processing, and forwarding, whereas Europe they have mostly been reduced to just two through use a PTY (Processor Tower Yarder).
