DLP 4D Printing of Multi‐Responsive Bilayered Structures

Advances in soft robotics strongly rely on the development and manufacturing of new responsive materials. In particular, light-based 3D printing techniques, especially, digital light processing (DLP), offer a versatile platform for fast complex 3D/4D structures with high spatial resolution. this work, DLP all-printed bilayered exhibiting reversible multi-responsive behavior are presented first time. For purpose, liquid crystal elastomers (LCEs) used as active layers combined printable non-responsive elastomer acting passive layer. Furthermore, selective response is incorporated by embedding various organic dyes absorbing at different regimes layers. An in-depth characterization single materials printed bilayers demonstrates response. Last, versatility approach shown structure consisting four (a three LCE materials), which exhibit actuation patterns when irradiated wavelengths light.
