Reference limits for copper and iron in liver biopsies.
Using 141 liver biopsy results (103 adults, 38 children) and a rank-order approach, the following reference limits were found: copper 55 microg/g dry weight, iron 1800 microg/g dry weight (adults only), and iron index 1.0. The study was made feasible by the fact that both copper and iron were measured as standard practice in every liver biopsy received for either test. The added analyte tended ...
متن کاملThe concentrations of copper, zinc and iron in muscle and liver tissues of Scomberomorus commerson and Scomberomorus guttatus in the north of Persian Gulf (autumn and winter)
The present research was undertaken in order to measure the concentrations of heavy metals in tissues of the Scomberomorus commerson and Scomberomorus guttatus in Bushehr seaport. 20 samples of S. commerson and 20 samples of S. guttatus were cathed randomly from Bushehr seaport. After biometry of fish, the tissue samples were taken from muscles and liverand chemical digestion of the samples wer...

Copper (Cu) deficiency was diagnosed in a herd of 56 sheep, among which five presented characteristic clinical symptoms of enzootic ataxia. The symptoms began 30 days after birth, with a clinical condition that included locomotion difficulty, limb ataxia, tremors, and continual falls. Liver biop...
متن کاملComparison of Copper Concentrations in Liver and Muscle of Squalius cephalus and Capoeta capoeta gracilis
The aim of this study was to determine and compare the concentration of copper (Cu) in liver and muscle of two fish species Squalius cephalus and Capoeta capoeta gracilis. The fish were caught in four sampling sites along Tajan River, Mazandaran Province, northern Iran. The concentration of Cu was determined using flame atomic absorption spectrometry. There were significant differences (P
