Malignant Phyllodes Tumor: Imaging Features With Histopathologic Correlation

چکیده
Abstract Phyllodes tumors (PT) are rare fibroepithelial lesions of the breast that commonly present as rapidly enlarging, palpable masses. may be classified benign, borderline, or malignant on basis histopathologic analysis. Although PT cannot distinguished from benign imaging findings alone, studies suggest tend to larger and irregular in shape, they less likely have circumscribed margins. If biopsy results indeterminate, excisional should performed. Malignant can difficult distinguish histologically sarcomas spindle cell metaplastic carcinoma; distinction is important for prognosis treatment. treated surgically with wide local excision, without a clear role adjuvant radiation chemotherapy most cases. Nearly one-third recur locally, usually within few years after initial diagnosis. Distant metastatic disease rare, five-year overall survival rate close 80%. The purpose this article review clinical presentation, appearance, histopathology, management PT.

Aggressive malignant phyllodes tumor
INTRODUCTION Originally described in 1838 by Muller, phyllodes tumor is a rare fibroepithelial neoplasm which represents roughly 0.3-0.9% of all breast cancers. Phyllodes tumor are divided into benign, borderline and malignant histologic categories. Malignant phyllodes tumor represent anywhere from 10-30% of all phyllodes tumors. This group has both the potential to recur locally and metastasiz...
متن کاملMalignant phyllodes breast tumor
Malignant phyllodes tumor is a rare tumor of the breast occurring in females usually between the ages of 35 and 55 years. It is often difficult to distinguish benign from malignant phyllodes tumors from other benign entities such as fibroadenomas. This case presentation demonstrates a woman with malignant phyllodes tumor treated with mastectomy with abdominal skin flap reconstruction.
متن کاملImaging of Pelvic Bone Metastasis from Malignant Phyllodes Breast Tumor
The author reports a patient with a malignant phyllodes breast tumor, who then had a ten-year disease free interval before she developed a left pelvic bone metastasis and soft tissue invasion. Cross-sectional and radionuclide imaging of its musculoskeletal metastasis is presented. Literature concerning bone metastasis from phyllodes tumor is also briefly reviewed and discussed, along with its e...

RATIONALE Phyllodes tumor is a rare fibro epithelial neoplasm of the breast. They resemble fibroadenomas clinically and can be mistakenly ignored sometimes. PATIENT CONCERNS We report the case of a young woman with her first presentation to hospital due to a hypoglycemia and she underwent 2 excised fibroadenomas in the same breast before diagnosed of malignant phyllodes tumor. She was complai...
