نویسندگان

چکیده

Objective: To compare efficacy of near infrared light (NIR) versus naked eye (NE) visualization for intravenous access in the neonates. Methods: This was a randomized controlled trial carried out tertiary care center New Delhi, India from 2015 to 2017. A total 480 admitted neonates, who required placement catheter were receive attempt with NE group or using NIR source group. Primary outcome first success rate establishing access. Secondary outcomes time establish access, number pricks taken, and cost consumables used. Results: Of 240 neonates each mean birth weight being 1665 ± 820 grams 1600 778 grams, respectively (p-value = 0.363). Mean gestational age 31.78 3.9 weeks 31.79 (p-value= 0.972). First-attempt 122 (50.8%) 124 (51.7%) respectively. The median(IQR) taken 37.5 (13- 134.7) sec 43 (17-221.2) group, 0.307). There no significant difference between groups secondary outcomes. Conclusion: Use as compared visualization, establishment does not improve rate. Keywords: Near Infrared Light, Neonate, Vein Viewer. Clinical Trial Registry #: CTRI/2017/01/007693

Near-infrared imaging in intravenous cannulation in children: a cluster randomized clinical trial.

OBJECTIVE Intravenous cannulation is a widespread medical procedure that can be difficult in children. Visualization of veins with near-infrared (NIR) light might support intravenous cannulation. Therefore, we investigated the effectiveness of an NIR vascular imaging system (VascuLuminator) in facilitating intravenous cannulation in children in the operating room. METHODS This was a pragmatic...
