New Mononuclear Mn(III) Complexes with Hydroxyl-Substituted Hexadentate Schiff Base Ligands

This paper reports the syntheses, crystal structures and magnetic properties of Mn(III) hexadentate Schiff base complexes [Mn(4-OH-sal-N-1,5,8,12)]NO3(1) [Mn(4-OH-sal-N-1,5,8,12)]ClO4(2), where (4-OH-sal-N-1,5,8,12)2? (4,4?-((1E,13E)-2,6,9,13-tetraazatetradeca-1,13-diene-1,14-diyl)bis(3-methoxyphenol) is a new hydroxyl-substituted ligand. The introduction ligand induces more hydrogen bonding interactions, in addition to promoting formation intermolecular interactions among cations. However, close-packing both lead their stabilization high-spin state temperature range 2?300 K.
