Pragmatic Analysis on Political Text in Posters, Slogans and Jingles in Davao Del Norte, Philippines

Elections in the Philippines covered with a lot of controversies. Among those recognized political parties, two were most coveted for position. These are Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) and Partido Demokratiko Pilipino – Lakas Bayan (PDP Laban). Meanwhile, due to same interest both they fought one another position using striking, deceiving, powerful words convince people. The purpose this study is identify pragmatic acts on text posters, slogans, jingles. Employing qualitative content analysis approach, corpora retrieved purposively identified across Davao del Norte Philippines. Data analyzed by identifying acts. Results revealed that paraphernalia used aspirant politicians based pragmeme consist activity part or also known as interactants textual context. In context parts, it features such Reference (REF), Inference (IR), Relevance (REL), Voice (VC), Shared Situation Knowledge (SSK), Metaphor (M), Cultural (SCK). Also, politician employed different contextual backgrounds ‘pract’ declaring, comparing, emphasizing, offering, claiming, committing, predicting. Thus, recommended explore linguistics aspects deepen understanding language candidates specific widen scope pragmatize language.
