Simplified Predictive Direct Power Control of Three-Phase Three-Level Four-Leg Grid Connected NPC Converter

Model Predictive Control (MPC) provides various advantages over traditional controllers in power electronics applications. However, reducing the complexity and computational burden of Finite-control set-model predictive control (FCS-MPC) multi-leg multilevel inverters is still a challenging task. In this paper, simplified model direct (MPDPC) for three-level, four-leg grid-connected converter (4L-GCC) proposed. The main idea proposed strategy to reduce algorithm by using only switching vectors first sector optimize cost function. method can ensure accurate active reactive powers, zero-sequence current, as well DC capacitor voltages balancing without any weighting factors. Simulation experimental results are provided prove effectiveness simplicity MPC compared with most-recently solutions.
