Study on crystallographic and electronic structure of micrometre-scale ZnO and ZnO:B rods via X-ray absorption fine-structure spectroscopy

X-ray absorption near-edge structure (XANES) and extended fine-structure (EXAFS) spectra were recorded to investigate the electronic local crystal of ZnO ZnO:B powders produced via hydrothermal synthesis. grow as micrometre-scale rods with hexagonal shape, confirmed by scanning electron microscopy micrographs. The number broken increases increasing B concentration, observed in images, due atoms locating between Zn O which weakens and/or breaks Zn–O bonds. However, no disorder within crystallographic upon doping is from diffraction results, supported EXAFS results. To determine atomic locations boron their influence on zinc atoms, data fitted calculated using parameters obtained analysis samples. fitting complementary k -weight revealed positions – determined be atoms.
