چکیده

An atom confined in an optical dipole trap is a promising candidate for qubit. Analyzing the temporal response of such trapped atoms enables us to estimate speed at which quantum computers operate. The present work models formed using crossed laser beams and further examines photoionization time delay from atoms. We study noble gas atoms, as Ne (Z = 10), Ar 18), Kr 36), Xe 54). are considered be X-ray Free Electron Lasers (XFEL). shows that different compared with free This analysis alerts while talking about computing, environment must also accounted for.

Theory of an optical dipole trap for cold atoms

The theory of an atom dipole trap composed of a focused, far red-detuned, trapping laser beam, and a pair of red-detuned, counterpropagating, cooling beams is developed for the simplest realistic multilevel dipole interaction scheme based on a model of a ~315!-level atom. The description of atomic motion in the trap is based on the quantum kinetic equations for the atomic density matrix and the...

Nonlinear dynamics of atoms in a crossed optical dipole trap.

We explore the classical dynamics of atoms in an optical dipole trap formed by two identical Gaussian beams propagating in perpendicular directions. The phase space is a mixture of regular and chaotic orbits, the latter becoming dominant as the energy of the atoms increases. The trapping capabilities of these perpendicular Gaussian beams are investigated by considering an atomic ensemble in fre...

Analysis of a quantum logic device based on dipole-dipole interactions of optically trapped Rydberg atoms

We present a detailed analysis and design of a neutral atom quantum logic device based on atoms in optical traps interacting via dipole-dipole coupling of Rydberg states. The dominant physical mechanisms leading to decoherence and loss of fidelity are enumerated. Our results support the feasibility of performing singleand two-qubit gates at MHz rates with decoherence probability and fidelity er...

Mixture of ultracold lithium and cesium atoms in an optical dipole trap

We present the first simultaneous trapping of two different ultracold atomic species in a conservative trap. Lithium and cesium atoms are stored in an optical dipole trap formed by the focus of a CO2 laser. Techniques for loading both species of atoms are discussed and observations of elastic and inelastic collisions between the two species are presented. A model for sympathetic cooling of two ...

Measurement of magic-wavelength optical dipole trap by using the laser-induced fluorescence spectra of trapped single cesium atoms.

Based on the multi-level model, we have calculated light shifts for Zeeman states of hyperfine levels of cesium (Cs) 6S1/2 ground state and 6P3/2 excited state. The magic-wavelength linearly-polarized optical dipole trap (ODT) for Cs 6S1/2 |F = 4, mF = + 4ñ - 6P3/2 |F' = 5, mF = + 5ñ transition is experimentally constructed and characterized by using the laser-induced fluorescence spectra of tr...
