Wheat Midge.p65

چکیده

The loss of kernels lowers the yield, whereas damaged kernels reduce the grade of the harvested wheat. Standards established by the Canadian Grain Commission limit midge damage in No. 1 CWRS and No. 2 CWRS to 2 per cent and 8 per cent respectively, before grade is affected. Damage tolerances for amber durum are 2 per cent for No. 1 CWAD and 8 per cent for No. 2 CWAD. However, if disease associated with midge damage, referred to as severe midge damage, grading tolerances are only 0.1 per cent and 0.25 per cent for CWAD No. 1 and No. 2 respectively. More detailed information regarding grading is available at the Canadian Grain Commission web site: www.cgc.ca in Chapter 4 – Wheat, of the Official Grain Grading Guide

Effects of Wheat-Maize Intercropping on Population Dynamics of Wheat Aphids and Their Natural Enemies

To study the effects of wheat-maize intercropping on the population dynamics of wheat aphids and their natural enemies, wheat-maize intercropping patterns were divided into four levels: 8:2, 6:2, and 4:2 intercropping, and monoculture wheat. The results showed that as the wheat coverage rate decreased, the quantities of immigrating winged aphids and their natural enemies significantly differed;...

Characterization of a new wheat food allergen

Background Allergens from wheat (Triticum aestivum) can cause three distinct IgE-mediated allergies: respiratory allergy by inhalation of wheat flour, wheat pollen allergy and wheat food allergy. Wheat and wheat products are a main component in human diet, but currently avoidance is the only therapy for wheat food allergic patients. Diagnosis based on wheat flour extracts does not discriminate ...

Wheat allergy: a double-blind, placebo-controlled study in adults.

BACKGROUND Wheat is believed to be an uncommon cause of food allergy in adults; the number of studies that address IgE mediated wheat allergy in adults is all too few. OBJECTIVE Determine how many subjects with a history of wheat allergy have real allergy by double-blind, placebo-controlled food challenge; identify the symptoms manifested during the challenge; determine the lowest provocation...

The oral desensitization was performed with increasing doses starting at 25 mg (group S)...

Wild emmer wheat, Triticum dicoccoides, occupies a pivotal position in wheat domestication process

Domestication of plants and animals is the major factor underlying human civilization. Cultivated wheats refer mainly to two types: the hexaploid bread wheat (Triticum aestivum) accounting for about 95% of world wheat production, and the tetraploid durum wheat (T. durum) accounting for the other 5%. T. aestivum derived from a cross between domesticated emmer T. dicoccum and the goat grass Aegil...
