چکیده

An extrusion process especially designed for extrusion of pipes made from fiber reinforced cementitious materials has been developed at Department of Structural Engineering and Materials at the Technical University of Denmark. Engineered Cementitious Composite (ECC) materials have been developed in recent years at Department of Civil and Envirionmental Engineering, University of Michigan. These materials have been developed with the special aim of producing high performance, strain hardening materials with low volume concentrations of short fibers in a cementitious material. ECC material specimens have until now been produced by traditional casting processes. In the present paper results from a recent collaborative research project are documented demonstrating that ECC materials can be extruded in the process referred to above. The paper briefly describes the extrusion process, along with the engineering concepts of ECC materials. Typical mechanical properties of extruded ECC materials are presented, discussed and compared to properties of traditional ECC materials.

Prediction of Engineered Cementitious Composite Material Properties Using Artificial Neural Network

Cement-based composite materials like Engineered Cementitious Composites (ECCs) are applicable in the strengthening of structures because of the high tensile strength and strain. Proper mix proportion, which has the best mechanical properties, is so essential in ECC design material to use in structural components. In this paper, after finding the best mix proportion based on uniaxial tensile st...

Development of Green Engineered Cementitious Composites for Sustainable Infrastructure Systems

Over the last decade, enormous strides have been made in creating engineered cementitious composites (ECC) with extreme tensile ductility, on the order of several hundred times that of normal concrete or fiber reinforced concrete (FRC). Current ECC investigations include load carrying structural members in new infrastructure systems, as well as for repair and retrofitting of existing structures...

Numerical study and genetic algorithm optimization of hot extrusion process to produce rectangular waveguides

Rectangular waveguide is one of the earliest types of transmission lines. Rectangular waveguide can be produced by hot extrusion process. In this paper, the hot extrusion process of CuZn5 rectangular waveguide was investigated by Finite Element Method (FEM). In addition, Genetic Algorithm (GA) was used to optimize the die geometry and process conditions to achieve the lowest magnitude of extrus...

Relationship Between Early Childhood Caries and Anemia: A Systematic Review

Background: Early childhood caries (ECC) is one of the important caries occuring in children under the age of 6. ECC is defined as possible risk factor for iron deficiency-related anemia. In this review study, the current evidence about the effect of ECC on the prevalence of anemia was studied. Material and Methods: A systematic review on ECC and anemia was done based on published article in P...

Durable Overlay Systems with Engineered Cementitious Composites (ECC)

This paper reviews recent research on the application of an engineered cementitious composite (ECC) as overlay in the repair of deteriorated concrete structures. ECC is an ultra-ductile fiber reinforced cement based composite, that has metal-like features when loaded in tension. The uniaxial tensile stress-strain curve shows a ‘yield’ point, followed by strain-hardening up to several percent st...
