PCOAT: positional correlation analysis using multiple methods
نویسندگان
چکیده
UNLABELLED PCOAT (Positional COrrelation Analysis Tool) is a program to perform positional correlation analysis for protein multiple sequence alignment in order to identify structurally or functionally important interactions between positions in a protein family. We implement different statistical methods to detect highly correlated position pairs, amino acid pairs, individual positions and networks of correlated positions, and utilize multiple sequence weighting and sampling methods to eliminate background correlations caused by phylogeny and stochastic events. Our program runs relatively fast and is suitable for analyzing alignments containing large number of sequences. AVAILABILITY ftp://iole.swmed.edu/pub/PCOAT/. SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION The PCOAT ftp site contains a detailed description of the program, and the results of PCOAT analysis on C2H2 alignment and ACT domain alignment.

Positional correlation analysis improves reconstruction of full-length transcripts and alternative isoforms from noisy array signals or short reads
MOTIVATION A reconstruction of full-length transcripts observed by next-generation sequencer or tiling arrays is an essential technique to know all phenomena of transcriptomes. Several techniques of the reconstruction have been developed. However, problems of high-level noises and biases still remain and interrupt the reconstruction. A method is required that is robust against noise and bias an...

Introduction: ln literature review, cognitive problems such as poor working memory is considered as one of the main reading problems among dyslexic children. Therefore, the present study was conducted to determine the effect of Reading Assistant Package training on the working memory of dyslexic children. Methods: The present study was a single-subject research design of multiple baseline types...
متن کاملComparison of Positional Release Technique with and without strain-counter strain technique on the pain, neck range of motion in men with active trigger points in upper trapezius muscle
Aims and background: Trigger points are sensitive points in the skeletal muscle and neck muscles that cause referral pain, decrease the range of motion and muscle soreness. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to compare the effect of the Positional Release Technique with and without strain-counter strain technique on the pain, neck range of motion in men with active trigger points in uppe...
متن کاملMapping spatial variability of soil salinity in a coastal area located in an arid environment using geostatistical and correlation methods based on the satellite data
Saline lakes can increase the soil and water salinity of the coastal areas. The main aim of this study is to distinguish the characteristics of the spectral reflectance of saline soil, analyze the statistical relationship between soil EC and characteristics of the spectral reflectance of saline soil, and to map soil salinity east of the Maharloo Lake. The correlation between field measurements ...
متن کاملProspective clinical investigation of the relationship between idiopathic benign paroxysmal positional vertigo and bone turnover: a pilot study.
OBJECTIVE/HYPOTHESIS Idiopathic benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) is a strong indicator of decreased bone density (osteopenia/osteoporosis) in postmenopausal women, and there is a correlation between BPPV and serum levels of biochemical markers of bone turnover. STUDY DESIGN Prospective pilot clinical trial. METHODS Two groups of postmenopausal women were recruited. The BPPV group...
