چکیده

This paper focuses on the multi-agent highway traffic simulation. It provides a realistic modeling with high fidelity continuous vehicle movement incorporating physical dynamics of the vehicles. The deliberative agent part of the system enables to implement and evaluate complex cooperation and coordination algorithms. The paper presents the architecture and implemented simulator for evaluation of a wide scale of non-cooperative and cooperative vehicles driving behaviors and intelligent highways.

An Efficient Distributed Traffic Events Generator for Smart Highways

This paper deals with a spatiotemporal traffic events generator for real highway networks. The goal is to use the event generator to test real-time and batch traffic analysis applications. In this context, we represent a highway network as an oriented graph based on the geographic data of the different sensors locations. The traffic is generated based on a sociocultural calendar using a virtual...

Towards a more accurate agent-based multi-lane highway simulation

The next several years will see an acceleration of the adoption of intelligent driving aid devices. Studying the impact of such devices on the overall traffic performance and safety requires highly realistic microscopic traffic simulation models, which account not only for the overall traffic flow, but also for the details and variability of the individual driver’s behavior. In this paper, we f...

Using Agent-Based Simulation to Determine an Optimal Lane-Changing Strategy on a Multi-Lane Highway

Lane changing can increase or impede the flow of vehicular traffic, depending on traffic density and the lane-changing strategies used by individual drivers. We implement and extend the Nagel-Schreckenberg (N-S) traffic model as an agent-based model to investigate lane-changing behavior on a multi-lane roadway, with the goal of determining which lane changing strategies result in the greatest o...

THE EFFECT OF TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ON VMS SIGN AND PILOT SIMULATION OF AZADI STREET TO ENGHELAB SQUARE

Today’s, a common problem in cities is increasing delay and reducing the speed of traffic. On the other wise increasing costs of acquisition in urban area are not allow new routes and highways. Also construction of new highway or street such as Imam Ali highway and Sadr highway in Tehran lead to develop new applications (such as BRT lane ,…) And become quickly saturate and less eff...

Modeling the conscious behavior of drivers for multi-lane highway driving

The current state of the art in simulating highway driving extensively relies on models using formulas similar to those describing physical phenomena such as forces, viscosity or potential fields. While the parametrization of these formulas can account for the limitations of the driver (such as reaction delay), they are badly suited for modeling conscious behavior. In this paper we describe our...
