چکیده
In each case the complexes were suspended in 20rn~-Tris/HCl (pH 8.0)/0.1% LDAO (v/v). The circles indicate where the recording spectrophotometer stopped and the spectra were continued point by point in another machine. (a) Complexes from strain 7750 grown at 2000k: 0, type 1 B800-850; 0, RC-B880. (b) Complexes from strain 7050 grown at 4001~: 0, type 2 B800-850; this spectrum was raised to make it more clearly visible; 0, B800-830.

Molecular Insight into the Mutual Interactions of Two Transmembrane Domains of Human Glycine Receptor (TM23-GlyR), with the Lipid Bilayers
Appearing as a computational microscope, MD simulation can ‘zoom in’ to atomic resolution to assess detailed interactions of a membrane protein with its surrounding lipids, which play important roles in the stability and function of such proteins. This study has employed the molecular dynamics (MD) simulations, to determine the effect of added DMPC or DMTAP molecules on the structure of D...
متن کاملMutation of a single residue, β-glutamate-20, alters protein–lipid interactions of light harvesting complex II
It is well established that assembly of the peripheral antenna complex, LH2, is required for proper photosynthetic membrane biogenesis in the purple bacterium Rhodobacter sphaeroides. The underlying interactions are, as yet, not understood. Here we examined the relationship between the morphology of the photosynthetic membrane and the lipid-protein interactions at the LH2-lipid interface. The n...
متن کاملStructural details of an interaction between cardiolipin and an integral membrane protein.
Anionic lipids play a variety of key roles in biomembrane function, including providing the immediate environment for the integral membrane proteins that catalyze photosynthetic and respiratory energy transduction. Little is known about the molecular basis of these lipid-protein interactions. In this study, x-ray crystallography has been used to examine the structural details of an interaction ...
متن کاملResponse of Fenugreek plants to short-term salinity stress in relation to lipid peroxidation, antioxidant activity and protein content
To investigate the effect of salinity stress on membrane stability index, membrane lipid peroxidation, catalase activity and protein content of Fenugreek (Trigonellafoenum) an experiment with five levels of short-term salinity stress (0, 50, 100, 150 and 200 mM) was carried out at the laboratory of agriculture faculty of Shahid Bahonar University of Kerman, Iran. The treatments were ar...
متن کاملAddition of lipid to the photosynthetic membrane: effects on membrane structure and energy transfer
We have carried out a series of experiments in which the lipid composition of the photosynthetic membrane has been altered by the addition of lipid from a defined source under experimental conditions. Liposomes prepared by sonication are mixed with purified photosynthetic membranes obtained from spinach chloroplasts and are taken through cycles of freezing and thawing. Several lines of evidence...
متن کاملLipid phase behaviour and lipid-protein interactions in the chloroplast photosynthetic membrane.
The thylakoid membrane of higher plant chloroplasts, in common with other energy-transducing membrane systems, contains a relatively high ratio of proteins to lipids. The lipid fraction is dominated by galactolipids, namely monogalactosyland digalactosyl-diacylglycerols, which together represent about 75% by weight of the total membrane polar lipids (Nishihara et al., 1980). The membrane protei...
