چکیده

Endothelial cell seeding is a technique that has developed over the past 15 years in response to the need for a high performance synthetic vascular graft. This review details our present knowledge of seeding and examines the various problems that have hampered its introduction into clinical practice.

Endothelial cell seeding of polymeric vascular grafts.

Pioneers in the field of small diameter graft development sought to promote graft endothelialization and, thereby, increase patency by transplanting a varying degree of autologous endothelial cells onto vascular grafts prior to implantation. This process has become known as endothelial cell seeding. The underlying hypothesis is quite simple; that is, by promoting the establishment of the patien...

Alternative techniques of seeding cultured endothelial cells to ePTFE grafts of different diameters, porosities, and surfaces.

Attachment of 111Indium-oxine labeled cultured canine venous endothelial cells to expanded polytetrafluorethylene (ePTFE) grafts was evaluated in vitro. Three alternative seeding techniques were studied in grafts having different diameters, porosities, and surfaces, including: (I) manual milking of blood containing endothelial cells within the graft; (II) a two-step procedure of incubating graf...

Reporting the Effect of Cell Seeding Density on Growth Pattern of Cancer Cell Lines

In vitro studies on cancer cell lines still constitutes a major part of cancer research. It is very important that the researchers consider the importance of basic conditions of working with different cell lines. To the best of authors knowledge, this study is the first one to report the effect of seeding density on the growth curve of three human cancer cell lines. These cell lines include hum...

Promote Osteogenesis in Tissue Engineered Bone by Pre-seeding Endothelial Progenitor Cells-derived Endothelial Cells

Introductions Tissue-engineered bone regeneration requires not only a cell population capable of creating new bone and a biocompatible scaffold, but also the formation of an appropriate vascular bed to support the metabolic needs of bone tissue. Slow ingrowth of blood vessels can lead to cell loss through hypoxic cell death during the early post-implantation stage. To overcome the obstacle of n...

Stimulated migration and penetration of vascular endothelial cells into poly (L-lactic acid) scaffolds under flow conditions

BACKGROUND The initial procedure of the development of engineered tissues is cell seeding into three-dimensional polymer scaffolds. However, it is hard to make the cells invade into scaffold due to the characteristic of pore and material. Electrospun poly (L-lactic acid) scaffold and flow perfusion system were used to overcome these seeding problems. RESULTS Before starting the experiment, we...
