Mountain Village at Sunset.

چکیده

During my travels to numerous countries over 40 years, I have seen many picturesque mountain villages with elegant and well-preserved houses perched on carefully selected sites on the mountains, and others located by a river or lake at the foot of a mountain. They appear remarkably harmonious with the natural scenery. Fruit trees or tea trees and crops such as rice, wheat, and corn are planted on small plots of land. Small boats for fishing and transportation are anchored at the edge of the river or lake when not in use. Together, these make a most magnificent and picturesque landscape. Photos and memories of such landscapes inspired me to create an artwork that represents my impression of an idyllic, composite picture of a mountain village by a lake, where houses and gates have contrasting black roofs and white walls. It features a sunset scene when the golden rays of the setting sun kiss the side of the mountain, which has an earthy brown, barren, and sheer cliff face, rendering it a bright orange and yellow hue contrasting strongly with the various shades of green and blue characterizing the rest of the mountain scene. Fishermen are returning home with their catch of the day in small boats, and flocks of white egrets fly to their nests among the trees.

Content-Based Hierarchical Classification of Vacation Images

Grouping images into (semantically) meaningful categories using low-level visual features is a challenging and important problem in content-based image retrieval. Specifically, we consider the hierarchical c...
