Fundamental Domains , Lattice Density , and Minkowski Theorems

چکیده
Now that we know that every lattice admits a basis, a next fundamental question is: given linearly independent vectors b1, . . . , bn ∈ L how can we tell if they form a basis of L? As we have seen previously, not every set of n linearly vectors in Zn is a basis of Zn. One possible answer is given in the following lemma. It says that the basic parallelepiped generated by the vectors should not contain any lattice points, except the origin. As an example, notice that the basic parallelepiped shown in Figure 1(c) contains the lattice point (1, 0) whereas those in Figures 1(a) and 1(b) do not contain any nonzero lattice points.

Translation Surfaces of the Third Fundamental Form in Lorentz-Minkowski Space
In this paper we study translation surfaces with the non-degenerate third fundamental form in Lorentz- Minkowski space $mathbb{L}^{3}$. As a result, we classify translation surfaces satisfying an equation in terms of the position vector field and the Laplace operator with respect to the third fundamental form $III$ on the surface.
متن کاملGeneral Minkowski type and related inequalities for seminormed fuzzy integrals
Minkowski type inequalities for the seminormed fuzzy integrals on abstract spaces are studied in a rather general form. Also related inequalities to Minkowski type inequality for the seminormed fuzzy integrals on abstract spaces are studied. Several examples are given to illustrate the validity of theorems. Some results on Chebyshev and Minkowski type inequalities are obtained.
متن کاملrepresentation theorems of $L-$subsets and $L-$families on complete residuated lattice
In this paper, our purpose is twofold. Firstly, the tensor andresiduum operations on $L-$nested systems are introduced under thecondition of complete residuated lattice. Then we show that$L-$nested systems form a complete residuated lattice, which isprecisely the classical isomorphic object of complete residuatedpower set lattice. Thus the new representation theorem of$L-$subsets on complete re...
متن کاملRadon transforms and packings
We use some basic results and ideas from the integral geometry to study certain properties of group codes. The properties being studied are generalized weights and spectra of linear block codes over a finite field and their analogues for lattice sphere packings in Euclidean space. We do not obtain any new results about linear codes, although several short and simple proofs for known results are...
متن کاملAn Image in Four-dimensional Lattice Space of the Theory of the Elliptic Theta Functions
(cf. this BULLETIN, volume 25 (1919), page 449) the following theorem is fundamental: if we designate by a Minkowski surface in Rn a finite surface in space of n dimensions, having as its chief characteristic a center of symmetry toward which it is nowhere convex (cf. 1. c. for specific definition), then a Minkowski surface in Rn and of volume ^ 2 n will contain at least three distinct lattice ...
