The multi-segment goal programming (MSGP) model is an extension model of GP wherein the core thinking is inherited from the multi-choice goal programming (MCGP) model. In this paper, we recommend certain points of the MSGP model and offer a Revised MSGP Model as an aid to burdened decision makers who cannot expect an either-or selection of coefficients in practice. The proposed model takes into account a scenario in which the selection of all possible coefficients pertaining to each decision variable in the MSGP model can be an in-between selection instead of an exclusive-or selection. We hope this study can fill in a possible gap that might exist when applying the MSGP model, and can offer an extension model for practitioners when they use this model to solve related decision problems. 2012 Elsevier Ltd. Optimum Maintenance Strategy Selection using a Hybrid Approach based on Analytical Hierarchy Process and Revised Multi Choice Goal Programming

This study aims to select optimal maintenance strategy for components of an electric motor of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company. In this regard, a method based on revised multi choice goal programming and analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is presented. Since improving the equipment reliability is an important issue, reliability centered maintenance (RCM) strategies are i...

A goal geometric programming problem (G2P2) with logarithmic deviational variables and its applications on two industrial problems

A very useful multi-objective technique is goal programming. There are many methodologies of goal programming such as weighted goal programming, min-max goal programming, and lexicographic goal programming. In this paper, weighted goal programming is reformulated as goal programming with logarithmic deviation variables. Here, a comparison of the proposed method and goal programming with weighte...

An interactive weighted fuzzy goal programming technique to solve multi-objective reliability optimization problem

This paper presents an application of interactive fuzzy goal programming to the nonlinear multi-objective reliability optimization problem considering system reliability and cost of the system as objective functions. As the decision maker always have an intention to produce highly reliable system with minimum cost, therefore, we introduce the interactive method to design a high productivity sys...

A Chance Constrained Multiple Objective Goal Programming Model of Fuzzy QFD and FMEA: Model Development

There are varieties of QFD combination forms available that can help management to choose the right model for his/her types of problem. The proposed MOCC-QFD-FMEA model is a right model to include variety of objectives as well as the risk factors into the model of the problem. Due to the fact that the model also takes into consideration the concept of Fuzzy set, it further allows management...
