Information-bit error rate and false positives in an MDS code

چکیده
In this paper, a computation of the inputredundancy weight enumerator is presented. This is used to improve the theoretical approximation of the information–bit and –symbol error rate, in terms of the channel bit-error rate, in a block transmission through a discrete memoryless channel. Since a bounded distance reproducing encoder is assumed, the computation of the here-called false positive (a decoding failure with no information-symbol error) is provided. As a consequence, a new performance analysis of an MDS code is proposed.

Bit Error Performance for Asynchronous Ds Cdma Systems Over Multipath Rayleigh Fading Channels (RESEARCH NOTE)
In recent years, there has been considerable interest in the use of CDMA in mobile communications. Bit error rate is one of the most important parameters in the evaluation of CDMA systems. In this paper, we develop a technique to find an accurate approximation to the probability of bit error for asynchronous direct–sequence code division multiple–access (DS/CDMA) systems by modeling the multipl...
متن کاملOn the Multiuser Error Probability and the Maximum Likelihood Performance of MDS Codes
MDS (e.g. Reed-Solomon) codes have many desirable properties which make them the code of choice in network scenarios and distributed coding schemes. An average binary weight enumerator of Reed-Solomon (RS) codes is derived assuming a binomial distribution of the bits in a non-zero symbol. Lower bounds on the average binary minimum distance of the ensemble of binary images of a Reed-Solomon code...
متن کاملRetouched Bloom Filters: Allowing Networked Applications to Flexibly Trade Off False Positives Against False Negatives
Where distributed agents must share voluminous set membership information, Bloom filters provide a compact, though lossy, way for them to do so. Numerous recent networking papers have examined the trade-offs between the bandwidth consumed by the transmission of Bloom filters, and the error rate, which takes the form of false positives, and which rises the more the filters are compressed. In thi...

An incredible amount of data is generated in the course of a functional neuroimaging experiment. The quantity of data gives us improved temporal and spatial resolution with which to evaluate our results. It also creates a staggering multiple testing problem. A number of methods have been created that address the multiple testing problem in neuroimaging in a principled fashion. These methods pla...
