Multilevel Structural Equation Modeling

چکیده

Iterative numerical procedures for the estimation of variance and covariance components for unbalanced designs were developed in the 1980s and were implemented in software packages such as MLWIN, SAS PROC MIXED and HLM. At the same time, interest in latent variables, that is, variables that cannot be directly observed or can only imperfectly be observed, led to the theory providing for the definition, fitting and testing of general models for linear structural relations for data from simple random samples.

Multilevel Regression and Multilevel Structural Equation Modeling

Multilevel modeling in general concerns models for relationships between variables defined at different levels of a hierarchical data set, which is often viewed as a multistage sample from a hierarchically structured population. Common applications are individuals within groups, repeated measures within individuals, longitudinal modeling, and cluster randomized trials. This chapter treats the m...

Beyond Multilevel Regression Modeling: Multilevel Analysis in a General Latent Variable Framework

Multilevel modeling is often treated as if it concerns only regression analysis and growth modeling. Multilevel modeling, however, is relevant for nested data not only with regression and growth analysis but with all types of statistical analyses. This chapter has two aims. First, it shows that already in the traditional multilevel analysis areas of regression and growth there are several new m...

A general non-linear multilevel structural equation mixture model

In the past 2 decades latent variable modeling has become a standard tool in the social sciences. In the same time period, traditional linear structural equation models have been extended to include non-linear interaction and quadratic effects (e.g., Klein and Moosbrugger, 2000), and multilevel modeling (Rabe-Hesketh et al., 2004). We present a general non-linear multilevel structural equation ...

Stanley A. Mulaik, Linear Causal Modeling with Structural Equations, Chapman & Hall/CRC., 2009, pp. 468, ISBN 14398 00383

This book presents a novel approach to the teaching of structural equation modeling from one of the primary figures in the area. It is primarily addressed to quantitative methodologists and their graduate students but will be useful to the wider audience of individuals interested in more extended and contemporary presentations of structural equation modeling. Particular strengths of the book in...

A Multilevel Multitrait-Multimethod Analysis

The classical multitrait-multimethod (MTMM) matrix can be viewed as a two-dimensional cross-classification of traits and methods. Beside commonly used analysis methods such as structural equation modeling and generalizability theory, multilevel analysis offers attractive possibilities. If the focus is only on analyzing classical MTMM data, the multilevel approach has no surplus value, because t...
