Towards Integrated System and Software Modeling for Embedded Systems

This paper addresses the integration of system modeling and software modeling, particularly for embedded systems, which are software intensive systems that consist of both hardware and software components. This paper describes a systems modeling approach to create structural and behavioral models of the total system using SysML. The systematic transition to software modeling using UML is then described.
