چکیده

We apply a semiclassical approach to express finite temperature dynamical correlation functions of gapped spin models analytically. We show that the approach of [Á. Rapp, G. Zaránd, Phys. Rev. B 74, 014433 (2006)] can also be used for the S = 1 antiferromagnetic Heisenberg chain, whose lineshape can be measured experimentally. We generalize our calculations to O(N) quantum spin models and the sineGordon model in one dimension, and show that in all these models, the finite temperature decay of certain correlation functions is characterized by the same universal semiclassical relaxation function. Universal relaxational dynamics of gapped one-dimensional models in the quantum sine-Gordon universality class.

A semiclassical approach to the low-temperature real-time dynamics of generic one-dimensional, gapped models in the sine-Gordon model universality class is developed. Asymptotically exact universal results for correlation functions are obtained in the temperature regime T << Delta, where Delta is the energy gap.

Magnon decay in gapped quantum spin systems.

In the continuum O(3) sigma-model description of gapped spin systems, S = 1 magnons can only decay into three lower energy magnons. We argue that the symmetry of the quantum spin Hamiltonian often allows decay into two magnons, and compute this decay rate in model systems. Two-magnon decay is present in Haldane gap S = 1 spin chains, even though it cannot be induced by any allowed term written ...

Exponential decay of spatial correlation in driven diffusive system: A universal feature of macroscopic homogeneous state

Driven diffusive systems have been a paradigm for modelling many physical, chemical, and biological transport processes. In the systems, spatial correlation plays an important role in the emergence of a variety of nonequilibrium phenomena and exhibits rich features such as pronounced oscillations. However, the lack of analytical results of spatial correlation precludes us from fully understandi...

Local interactions and non-abelian quantum loop gases.

Two-dimensional quantum loop gases are elementary examples of topological ground states with Abelian or non-Abelian anyonic excitations. While Abelian loop gases appear as ground states of local, gapped Hamiltonians such as the toric code, we show that gapped non-Abelian loop gases require nonlocal interactions (or nontrivial inner products). Perturbing a local, gapless Hamiltonian with an anti...

Localization of shocks in driven diffusive systems without particle number conservation.

We study the formation of localized shocks in one-dimensional driven diffusive systems with spatially homogeneous creation and annihilation of particles (Langmuir kinetics). We show how to obtain hydrodynamic equations that describe the density profile in systems with uncorrelated steady state as well as in those exhibiting correlations. As a special example of the latter case, the Katz-Lebowit...
