چکیده مقاله:

Objective(s): Exercise training is a well-known accelerator for the treatment of chronic heart failure (CHF). The current study aimed to investigate the restorative effects of aerobic interval training (AIT) intervention on myocardial energy metabolism in CHF rats. Materials and Methods: Post-myocardial infarction (MI) heart failure animal model was established. The Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into sham operation group (Sham group), CHF model group, and CHF exercise group (Exercise-CHF group). Results: Our data showed that when compared to the Sham group, the left ventricular systolic pressure (LVSP), myocardial glycogen content, and expression levels of key components of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) pathway were decreased significantly (P

Exercise training, energy metabolism, and heart failure.

Energy metabolism is at the crossroad of cell function and dysfunction. Cardiac and skeletal muscle cells, the energy metabolism of which is high, fluctuating, and adaptable to the special needs of the body, have developed sophisticated strategies for synthesizing, transferring, and utilizing energy in accordance with the needs of the body. Adaptation to endurance training mainly involves energ...

Exercise training prevents the exaggerated exercise pressor reflex in rats with chronic heart failure.

An exaggerated exercise pressor reflex (EPR) occurs in the chronic heart failure (CHF) state, which contributes to exercise intolerance and excessive sympathoexcitation during exercise. Exercise training (ExT) improves abnormal cardiovascular reflexes in CHF. Whether ExT can normalize the exaggerated EPR function remains to be determined. This study was designed to investigate the effects of Ex...

Impact of Aerobic Exercise on Restoration of Soleus and Gastrocnemius Muscles Microcirculations in Wistar Rats with Chronic Heart Failure

ABSTRACT         Background and Objective: Scientific evidence reveals that the density of skeletal muscle microcirculations decreases in the patients with chronic heart failure. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the impact of submaximal aerobic exercise training on restoration of fast/slow-twitch muscle fibers microcirculation in rats with myocard...

Exercise training upregulates nitric oxide synthases in the kidney of rats with chronic heart failure.

There is an interaction between heart and kidney diseases, which is a condition termed cardiorenal syndrome. Exercise training has cardioprotective effects, involving upregulation of endothelial (e) nitric oxide synthase (NOS) in the cardiovascular system. However, the effects of exercise training on NOS in the kidney with heart disease are unknown. The aim of the present study was to investiga...

Exercise training prevents skeletal muscle afferent sensitization in rats with chronic heart failure.

An exaggerated exercise pressor reflex (EPR) contributes to exercise intolerance and excessive sympathoexcitation in the chronic heart failure (CHF) state, which is prevented by exercise training (ExT) at an early stage in the development of CHF. We hypothesized that ExT has a beneficial effect on the exaggerated EPR by improving the dysfunction of muscle afferents in CHF. We recorded the disch...

Endurance training in rats with chronic heart failure induced by myocardial infarction.

The response to exercise was investigated in trained and sedentary rats with moderate compensated heart failure produced by myocardial infarction (MI) and in rats that underwent sham operations. Trained rats ran on a treadmill (10% grade at 20 m/min) for 60 min/day, 5 days/week for 10 to 12 weeks, whereas sedentary rats had only limited activity. Maximal oxygen consumption normalized for body w...
