We discuss G smoothness conditions for rectangular and triangular Gregory patches. We then incorporate these G conditions into a surface fitting algorithm. Knowledge of the patch type is inconsequential to the formulation of the G conditions, hence the term agnostic G Gregory surfaces.

In this paper, we propose a novel 3D free form surface matching method based on a novel key-point detector and a novel feature descriptor. The proposed detector is based on algebraic surface fitting. By global smooth fitting, our detector achieved high computational efficiency and robustness against nonrigid deformations. For the feature descriptor, we provide algorithms to compute 3D critical ...

This study examines the influence family structure (two parent or single parent) has on academic achievement as measured through student test scores. In addition, an alternative model comprised of student role performance, school, and other family factors is used to examine various influences on academic achievement. This study employs a secondary data analysis of the Educational Longitudinal S...

Research on early warning indicators has generally focused on assessing temporal transitions with limited application of these methods to detecting spatial regimes. Traditional spatial boundary detection procedures that result in ecoregion maps are typically based on ecological potential (i.e. potential vegetation), and often fail to account for ongoing changes due to stressors such as land use...

Objective The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of a revised curriculum on medical student academic motivation, burnout, and quality of life. Methods This cross-sectional comparative study involved 2 medical school cohorts of second year and fourth year medical students at The University of Auckland: a cohort under a traditional curriculum (n = 437) and a cohort under a revise...

We construct examples of nonnegative harmonic functions on certain graded graphs: the Young lattice and its generalizations. Such functions first emerged in harmonic analysis on the infinite symmetric group. Our method relies on multivariate interpolation polynomials associated with Schur’s S and P functions and with Jack symmetric functions. As a by–product, we compute certain Selberg–type int...

Volume transformations of medical images play an important role for many applications such as registration of di erent modalities mapping atlases onto clinical data or simulation of surgical procedures While registration and atlas mapping can for the major number of applications be performed without tight time constraints it is essential for simulation systems that they allow real time interact...
