Various methods to recognize assembly tasks using possible local displacement of objects have been proposed. To calculate this displacement, the screw theory is employed. It is equivalent to the first order Taylor expansion of the displacement. However, such methods can treat polyhedral objects only. Because the screw theory cannot treat curvature information of objects. In this paper, we propo...

We give an asymptotic expansion for the Taylor coefficients of L(P (z)) where L(z) is analytic in the open unit disc whose Taylor coefficients vary ‘smoothly’ and P (z) is a probability generating function. We show how this result applies to a variety of problems, amongst them obtaining the asymptotics of Bernoulli transforms and weighted renewal sequences.

In this paper, a numerical implementation of an expansion method is developed for solving Abel's integral equations of the first and second kind. The solution of such equations may demonstrate a singular behaviour in the neighbourhood of the initial point of the interval ofintegration. The suggested method is based on the use of Taylor series expansion to overcome the singularity which le...

First year students learn that the Taylor expansion Z carries functions into power series, and that it has some nice algebraic properties (e.g., Z (fg) = Z (f)Z (g)). It is less well known that the same game can be played within arbitrary groups: there is a natural way to say “a Taylor expansion Z for elements of an arbitrary group G”, and a natural way to carry the algebraic properties of the ...

The paper presents the design of nonlinear state feedback controller for a rigid manipulator. In order to obtain such controllers, a partial differential equation, HJB equation, should be solved, which is difficult to find a closed solution of that. In this paper, an efficient method using Taylor series expansion of nonlinear terms is used to tackle this problem. The tracking performance of the...

In the folklore of linear logic, a common intuition is that the structure of finiteness spaces, introduced by Ehrhard, semantically reflects the strong normalization property of cut-elimination. We make this intuition formal in the context of the non-deterministic λ-calculus by introducing a finiteness structure on resource terms, which is such that a λ-term is strongly normalizing iff the supp...

Abstract— This paper presents a novel approach to obtain fast locking PLL by embedding a nonlinear element in the loop of PLL. The nonlinear element has a general parametric Taylor expansion. Using genetic algorithm (GA) we try to optimize the nonlinear element parameters. Embedding optimized nonlinear element in the loop shows enhancements in speed and stability of PLL. To evaluate the perform...

As two-dimensional coupled system of nonlinear partial differential equations does not give enough smooth solutions, when approximated by linear, quadratic and cubic polynomials and gives poor convergence or no convergence. In such cases, approximation by zero degree polynomials like Haar wavelets (continuous functions with finite jumps) are most suitable and reliable. Therefore, modified numer...

in this paper, the range doppler algorithm (rda) for synthetic aperture radar moving on a ballistic trajectory is presented. the 3-dimension acceleration and non-uniform trajectory cause decreases in efficiency of conventional imaging algorithms. in this paper, the analytical expression for the 2-d signal spectrum for ballistic trajectory using taylor series expansion and series reversion is de...

Anoeconeossa bundoorensis sp. n. is described from Eucalyptus camaldulensis (Myrtaceae) from southern Victoria in Southeast Australia. It is placed in the A. communis Taylor species-group as the paramere lacks combs of black rods. It differs from other members of the species-group, A. communis and A. bullata Taylor as it lacks an anterobasal expansion on the paramere and from A. unicornuta Tayl...
