This paper studies giant magnons in CP , which in all known cases are old solutions from S placed into twoand three-dimensional subspaces of CP , namely CP , RP 2 and RP . We clarify some points about these subspaces, and other potentially interesting threeand four-dimensional subspaces. After confirming that ∆ − (J1 − J4)/2 is a Hamiltonian for small fluctuations of the relevant ‘vacuum’ point...

We study general rotating string solution in the AdS4×CP background with a BNS holonomy turned on over CP 1 ⊂ CP. We find the giant magnon and single spike solutions for the string moving in this background corresponding to open spin chain. We calculate the corresponding dispersion relation among various conserved charges for both the cases. We further study the finite size effect on both the g...

A phenomenological schematic model of multipole giant resonances (GR) is considered which treats the external interaction via common decay channels on the same footing as the coherent part of the internal residual interaction. The damping due to the coupling to the sea of complicated states is neglected. As a result, the formation of GR is governed by the interplay and competition of two kinds ...

We report a case of a giant adrenal pseudocyst, found incidentally in a 45 year old female. Her CT scan showed a 7.5cm x 7.3cm suprarenal mass and she underwent a laparoscopic transperitoneal adrenalectomy. We report this case and review the literature regarding the diagnosis and management of adrenal pseudocysts.

Probe-corrected spherical near-field antenna measurements with an arbitrary probe set certain requirements on an applicable scanning technique. The computational complexity of the general high-order probe correction technique for an arbitrary probe, that is based on the scanning, is , where is proportional to the radius of the antenna under test (AUT) minimum sphere in wavelengths. With the pre...

Formation of an aesthetic nipple areola complex with lasting projection remains a challenging final step in breast reconstruction. Despite the many techniques that have been described, no single approach has emerged as the gold standard. The current study presents a novel technique in nipple areola complex reconstruction. In a two-step fashion, the nipple and areola are reconstructed independen...

Bleeding of colonic diverticula is a common complaint, but it remains challenging to treat endoscopically because of the difficulty in determining the responsible diverticulum, particularly if the bleeding stops spontaneously. Additionally, endoscopic examinations lasting >60 minutes are, in some cases, also problematic [1]. Thus, an innovative diagnostic technique is eagerly anticipated. Extra...

An unusual case of fusion combined with concrescence of a supernumerary tooth and a central incisor is presented. In order to prevent a deep periodontal pocket following the separation, a twostep technique was attempted. The first stage consisted of surgical exposure of the roots and separation with closure to allow in-growth of connective tissue. Four weeks later, the fused crowns were separat...

The estimation of Laplacian factor is a crucial part of speech enhancement algorithms using Laplacian model priori. Classical methods for the estimation of this parameter suffer from the residual noise or time delay bias. In this paper, a novel algorithm called two-step technique for the estimation of Laplacian factor is proposed in discrete cosine transform domain. Based on the estimation theo...

Dear Editor, The recently developed “roman Blinds” technique, firstly described a few months ago in this journal, whose main appeals consist in lack of resection, reversibility, repeatability, low cost and minimal discomfort, appears to be effective in the treatment of snorers and patients with mild obstructive sleep apnoea . The technique achieves the widening and stiffening of the meso-pharyn...
