The Synchronized Location-Transshipment Problem

To improve efficiency and sustainability in synchromodal logistics, it becomes crucial to mitigate the disruptive effects caused by non-synchronized operations. In this work, we study Synchronized Location-Transshipment Problem which decisions on facilities select are fundamental ensure synchronization of flows correct exploiting just-in-time logistics cross-docking We propose a Mixed-Integer Linear Programming formulation for problem perform an economic analysis address several realistic situations based different sizes transshipment location types. The results tests allow us derive managerial insights define future research lines.
