چکیده

We present in this paper a general network DEA approach to deal with efficiency assessments in multi-stage processes. Our approach complies with the composition paradigm, where the efficiencies of the stages are estimated first and the overall efficiency of the system is obtained ex post. We use multi-objective programming as modeling framework. This provides us the means to assess unique and unbiased efficiency scores and, if required, to drive the efficiency assessments effectively in line with specific priorities given to the stages. A direct comparisonwith the multiplicative decomposition approach on data drawn from the literature brings into light the advantages of our method and some critical points that one should be concerned about when using the multiplicative efficiency decomposition. & 2015 Elsevier Ltd. Cost efficiency in three stage network DEA-R processes

In many organizations and financial institutions, we don't always have acsses to inputs and outputs to evaluate the decision-making units (DMUs), but rather only a ratio of inputs to outputs ( or reverse) might be available. In DEA, cost efficiency determines input standards based on input costs. In multi-stage network DEA processes, in addition to input standards, cost efficiency would determi...

An Integrated Approach for Measuring Performance of Network structure: Case study on power plants

Data envelopment analysis (DEA) and balanced scorecard (BSC) are two well-known approaches for measuring performance of decision making units (DMUs). BSC is especially applied with quality measures, whereas, when the quantity measures are used to evaluate, DEA is more appropriate. In the real-world, DMUs usually have complex structures such as network structures. One of the well-known network s...

A Ratio-Based Efficiency Measurement for Ranking Multi-Stage Production Systems in DEA

Conventional data envelopment analysis (DEA) models are used to measure efficiency score of production systems when they are considered as black boxes and their internal relationship is ignored. This paper deals with a common special case of network systems which is called multi-stage production system and can be generalized to many organizations. A multi stage production system has some stages...

EFFICIENCY MEASUREMENT OF NDEA WITH INTERVAL DATA

Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is a non-parametric technique for evaluation of relative efficiency of decision making units described by multiple inputs and outputs. It is based on solving linear programming problems. Since 1978 when basic DEA model was introduced many its modifications were formulated. Among them are two or multi-stage models with serial or parallel structure often called net...

Presenting a New Model for Bank’s Supply Chain Performance Evaluating with DEA Solution Approach

Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is a method for measuring the efficiency of peer decision making units (DMUs) with multiple inputs and outputs. The traditional DEA treats decision making units under evaluation as black boxes and calculates their efficiencies with first inputs and last outputs. This carries the notion of missing some intermediate measures in the process of changing the inputs to...
