Abstract:

The purpose of this article is to investigate the impact of electricity tariffs in the domestic and industrial sectors on electricity consumption and macroeconomic variables. In this regard, statistical data for the period 1991-2020 based on seasonal frequency and dynamic stochastic general equilibrium approach (DSGE) have been used. In this study, it is assumed that there is a section in the household and enterprise section called the electricity sector subsidy. The scenario designed in this study is that in terms of a pattern of electricity consumption, electricity tariffs for high-consumption subscribers in the domestic and industrial sectors will increase. The results showed that with the price shock, the amount of electricity consumption in the domestic sector has decreased more than the industrial sector. In addition, the price shock has led to an increase in investment, GDP and consumption at the macroeconomic level. In fact, in terms of price effect and income resulting from this policy, the situation of the electricity industry and other macroeconomic variables has improved over a period of 5 years. Effect of Sentiments on Macroeconomic Variables in Iran: A Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium Approach

This study aims to evaluate the effect of sentiments on Iran's economy through a New Keynesian Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium model in a closed economy. In this study, the coefficients of the proposed model are calibrated and estimated using the quarterly data of Iran's economy from 2004 to 2015. It shows that in the presence of sentiment, how stochastic impulses affect the main macroec...

The Effect of Minimum Wage on Iran's Macroeconomic Variables in The Framework of a Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium Model

In this paper ,in order to investigate the economic effects of the minimum wage policy on macroeconomic variables in the framework of the new Keynesian theory, a dynamic stochastic equilibrium general (DSGE) model has been simulated and estimated for an open and small oil exporter economy conforming with the structure of Iran's economy in the range from 1370 to 1395 .In the above mentioned mode...

The Effect of Climate Change on Economic Growth (Dynamic Computable General Equilibrium Model Approach in Iran)

Climate change is one of the most important issues affecting different economic sectors. The effect of increasing electricity price on rebound effect in Iran by computable general equilibrium

The main goal of policies to increase the energy efficiency is reducing energy consumption, but this goal is limited by the rebound effect. In the literature of energy economics, there are two types of non-price and market tools to reduce rebound effects. Among the market tools, energy taxation is a favored approach. In the Iranian economy, where the prices of energy carriers, including electri...
