Isolated absence of the ductus arteriosus is extremely rare condition although the ductus arteriosus may be hypoplastic or aplastic in association with other aortic arch anomalies. Authors described a case of isolated agenesis of the ductus arteriosus documented by postmortem examination of a newborn infant who died of pneumonia following operation for a large omphalocele. The heart showed vent...

Carotid artery disease is an important cause of mortality and morbidity related to atherosclerosis. Recently, percutaneous intervention procedures have been widely used to treat atherosclerotic carotid artery disease. We report the case of a 57-year-old male patient with a history of acute amaurosis fugax. Carotid angiography was performed as blood pressure differed between his left and right a...
An abnormal origin of the left common carotid artery from the initial portion of the brachiocephalic trunk was found in the superior mediastinum in a 81-year-old Caucasian male cadaver during dissection practice. We report on the exact morphology of that variant that is appeared in an incidence of 0,2% in the literature. We discuss the relative literature and pay attention on the significance o...
We report our experience with a 3.2F cerebral diagnostic catheter system. Thirty patients (aged 6 months to 76 years) had undergone cerebral angiography. All targeted brachiocephalic vessels were catheterized except for one artery (98.9% success rate). The image quality obtained with the 3.2F catheter was judged to be comparable with that using the 4F catheter in all cases. This catheter system...
We present a 31-year-old female with repaired tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) and right-sided aortic arch (RAA) with left-sided patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) originating from the left brachiocephalic artery. This is a rare finding but most common site for a PDA in TOF and a RAA. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first demonstration of this rare finding on MRI in the literature.
Takayasu’s arteritis is a chronic vasculitis of the large vessels and has rare initial presentation fever unknown origin (FUO), renders condition difficult to diagnose. Fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron-emission tomography-computed tomography (PET-CT) can assist in early diagnosis Arteritis patients with FUO improve prognosis such patients. In this case report, we describe 27-year- old female p...
Introduction Acute aortic dissection (AD) is the most common life-threatening disorder affecting the aorta. Neurological symptoms are present in 17-40% of cases. The management of these patients is controversial. Case report We presented a 37-year-old man admitted for complaining of left-sided weak-ness. Symptoms appeared two hours before admission. The patient had no headache, neither thorac...

Physical examination showed arterial bruits in both subclavian regions, and reduced pulses of both radial and brachial arteries and right carotid artery. There was no significant blood pressure diVerence between the arms (right arm 95/85 mm Hg; left arm 100/90 mm Hg). Ery...
