The validity of the axiomatization of the Harsanyi solution for NTU-games by Hart (1985) is shown to depend on the regularity conditions imposed on games. Following this observation, we propose two related axiomatic characterizations, one of the symmetric egalitarian solution (Kalai and Samet, 1985) and one of the consistent solution (Maschler and Owen, 1992). The three axiomatic results are st...
We show the existence of an upper bound for the number of blocks required to get from one imputation to another provided that accessibility holds. The bound depends only on the number of players in the TU game considered. For the class of games with non-empty cores this means that the core can be reached via a bounded sequence of blocks. JEL Classification Numbers: C71, C73, C61.
This paper provides a general overview of the literature on the core of an exchange economy with asymmetric information. Incentive compatibility is emphasized in studying core concepts at the ex ante and interim stage. The analysis includes issues of non-emptiness of the core as well as core convergence to price equilibrium allocations. © 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved. JEL clas...
In this note we study uncertainty sequencing situations, i.e., 1-machine sequencing situations in which no initial order is specified. We associate cooperative games with these sequencing situations, study their core, and provide links with the classic sequencing games introduced by Curiel et al. (1989). Moreover, we propose and characterize two simple cost allocation rules for uncertainty sequ...
We propose a definition of egalitarian equivalence that extends Pazner and Schmeidler’s (1978) concept to environments with incomplete information. If every feasible allocation rule can be implemented by an incentive compatible mechanism (as, for instance, in the case of non-exclusive information), then interim egalitarian equivalence and interim incentive efficiency remain compatible, as they ...
In this paper we first explore the predictive power of the solution notion called conservative stable standard of behaviour (CSSB), introduced by Greenberg (1990) in environments with farsighted players (as modelled in Xue (1998)) as intuitively it is quite nice. Unfortunately, we find that CSSB has a number of undesirable properties. Therefore, we introduce a refinement of this which we call c...
With the goal of investigating and enhancing anode performance in bulk-heterojunction (BHJ) organic photovoltaic (OPV) cells, the glass/tin-doped indium oxide (ITO) anodes are modified with a series of robust silane-tethered bis(fluoroaryl)amines to form self-assembled interfacial layers (IFLs). The modified ITO anodes are characterized by contact angle measurements, X-ray reflectivity, ultravi...
Molecular structures of 4-(((4-methoxyphenyl)amino)methyl)-N,N-dimethylaniline and 2-methoxy-5-((phenylamino)methyl)phenol synthesized via Schiff bases reduction route are reported. The compounds consist asymmetric units C16H20N2O (1) C14H15NO2 (2) in orthorhombic monoclinic crystal systems, respectively. Compound 1 intermolecular C11—H11···N2 hydrogen bonding with C11···N21 = 3.463(4) Å. hydro...
A two directional approach, in which asymmetric dihydroxylation and reduction reactions were used to control absolute configuration, was exploited in the preparation of a C(2)-symmetrical dipyranone. The homotopic dihydropyran (DHP) rings of this precursor were differentiated statistically using by a Prevost reaction and further functionalisation. A second Prevost reaction was used to functiona...
We present a straightforward method for the preparation of a novel donor–acceptor block copolymer based on an acceptor block with pendant phenyl-C71-butyric methyl ester (PC71BM) and a regioregular poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) as a donor. First, a hydroxyl-functionalized polystyrene copolymer with an azide end group was synthesized via nitroxide-mediated radical polymerization (NMRP) and was c...
