This paper proposes a comprehensive approach to computing a navigation graph for an indoor space. It focuses on a single floor, but the work is easily extensible to multi-level spaces. The approach proceeds by using a formal model, based on the combinatorial map but enhanced with geometric and semantic information. The process is almost fully automatic, taking as input the building plans provid...

LEDA (Library of EEcient Data Types and Algorithms) is an ongoing project which aims to build a library of the eecient data structures and algorithms used in combinatorial computing 12]. We discuss three recent aspects of the project: The cost of exibility, implementation parameters, and augmented trees.

[reaction: see text] A bromine-/chlorine-containing mass-tag encoding strategy for a small-molecule OBOC combinatorial library is reported. The resulting MALDI FTMS isotope pattern of each tag clearly defines the component building blocks of each "hit" bead in an 1890-member demonstration library screened on-bead for binding against streptavidin via both enzyme-linked colorimetric and Quantum D...

Construction of synthetic combinatorial libraries is described that allows for the generation of a library of motifs rather than a library of compounds. Peptide libraries based on this strategy were synthesized and screened with model targets streptavidin and anti-beta-endorphin antibody. The screens resulted in observation of expected motifs providing evidence of the effectiveness of the sugge...

The utilization of an Oblique-Incidence Reflectivity Difference (OI-RD) microscope to investigate a OneBead-One-Compound (OBOC) combinatorial chemical library is described. A six thousand random small molecule library was previously prepared for proof-of-principle experiments. This paper describes the initial results of these experiments.

Spontaneous emergence of solid state chirality and mirror symmetry breaking occurred upon crystallization from a small templated dynamic combinatorial library (DCL) of achiral macrocyclic imines, and depended strongly on the nature of library building blocks (amines, aldehydes, template cations and anions) and crystallization temperature.

We describe the predominant formation of a specific constitution arising from the combination of building blocks with different topologies through disulphide chemistry in a Dynamic Combinatorial Library (DCL). The supramolecular interactions established by a zwitterionic cysteine moiety are responsible for the self-selection of one product from all the virtual members of a large library.

ÐWe address the problem of finding the subject of a photographic image intended to illustrate some physical object or objects (ªdepictiveº) and taken by usual optical means without magnification (ªnaturalº). This could help in developing digital image libraries since important image properties like subject size and color of a photograph are not usually mentioned in accompanying captions and can...

Computer-based analysis revealed that natural products exhibit a remarkable structural diversity of molecular frameworks and scaffolds that could be systematically exploited for combinatorial synthesis. Natural products offer a rich pool of unique molecular frameworks that complement “drug space”. They possess desirable druglike properties rendering them ideal starting points for molecular desi...

The published applications of combinatorial biocatalysis have continued to expand at a growing rate. This is exemplified by the variety of enzyme catalysts and whole-cell catalysts used for the creation of libraries through a wide range of biocatalytic reactions, including acylation, glycosylation, halogenation, oxidation and reduction. These biocatalytic methods add the capability to perform u...
