General variational theorems for the rate problem of classical elastoplastic. ity al nnite strains, in both Updated Lagransian (UL) and Total Lagrangian (TL) rate fonns, and in terms of alternate measures of stress-rate and conjugate strain-rates, are cri tically studied from the point of view of their applica. tion. Attention, is primarily focused on the derivation of consistent complementary ...

A new method used to prove the global convergence of the nonlinear conjugate gradient methods, the spectral method, is presented in this paper, and it is applied to a new conjugate gradient algorithm with sufficiently descent property. By analyzing the descent property, several concrete forms of this algorithm are suggested. Under standard Wolfe line searches, the global convergence of the new ...

It is well-known that the Legendre-Fenchel conjugate of a positive-definite quadratic form can be explicitly expressed as another positive-definite quadratic form, and that the conjugate of the sum of several positive-definite quadratic forms can be expressed via inf-convolution. However, the Legendre-Fenchel conjugate of the product of two positive-definite quadratic forms is not clear at pres...

The imaging performance of an optical microscope can be degraded by sample-induced aberrations. A general strategy to undo the effect of these aberrations is to apply wavefront correction with a deformable mirror (DM). In most cases the DM is placed conjugate to the microscope pupil, called pupil adaptive optics (AO). When the aberrations are spatially variant an alternative configuration invol...

a new efficient method for the synthesis of carboacyclic nucleosides as biologically interesting compounds via aza-conjugate addition of pyrimidine nucleobases to a,β-unsaturated esters in the presence of catalytic amount of lioh.h2o (1.2-4.8 mol%) under microwave irradiation is described. this method affords the title compounds in good to excellent yields and in short reaction times.

UNLABELLED This article presents a new method for conjugate view activity quantification for 131I-labeled monoclonal antibody distribution. METHODS The method is based on the combined use of images from 3 modalities: whole-body (WB) scintillation camera scanning, WB transmission scanning using 57Co, and CT. All images are coaligned using a recently developed program for the registration of WB...

A conjugate code pair is defined as a pair of linear codes either of which contains the dual of the other. A conjugate code pair represents the essential structure of the corresponding Calderbank-Shor-Steane (CSS) quantum code. It is known that conjugate code pairs are applicable to (quantum) cryptography. We give a construction method for efficiently decodable conjugate code pairs.

Bordered almost block diagonal systems arise from discretizing a linearized rst-order system of n ordinary diierential equations in a two-point boundary value problem with non-separated boundary conditions. The discretization may use spline collocation, nite diierences, or multiple shooting. After internal condensation, if necessary, the bordered almost block diagonal system reduces to a standa...

Conjugate gradient methods are probably the most famous iterative methods for solving large scale optimization problems in scientific and engineering computation, characterized by the simplicity of their iteration and their low memory requirements. In this paper, we propose a new conjugate gradient method which is based on the MBFGS secant condition by modifying Perry’s method. Our proposed met...
