This paper presents a new soft switching flyback-forward PWM converter. The proposed circuit employs an auxiliary circuit to achieve soft switching condition for switches and also absorbs the voltage spikes caused by the leakage inductance of transformers in the converter. In the proposed converter main switch operates at ZVS and the auxiliary switch operates at ZCS. The proposed converter has ...

Complex networks of dynamically connected saddle states persistently emerge in a broad range of high-dimensional systems and may reliably encode inputs as specific switching trajectories. Their computational capabilities, however, are far from being understood. Here, we analyze how symmetry-breaking inhomogeneities naturally induce predictable persistent switching dynamics across such networks....

Bitstream switching is an effective way to deal with the bandwidth variation issue in transmitting multimedia over the Internet or wireless networks. This paper proposes a fast intelligent bitstream switching algorithm that avoids the problem of long delay and high complexity that often occurred in prior solutions. We show that it can achieve very close performance as an off-line MSE-optimized ...

we solve the coupled mode equations governing the chalcogenide nonlinear fiber bragg gratings (fbgs) numerically, and obtain the bistability characteristics. the characteristics of the chalcogenide nonlinear fbgs such as: switching threshold intensity, bistability interval, on-off switching ratio are studied. the effects of fbg length and its third order nonlinear refractive index on fbg charac...

In this paper, an overview of recent advances in digital control of lowto medium-power dc-dc switching converters is presented. Traditionally, analog electronics methods have dominated in controlling such dc-dc converters. However, with the steadily decreasing cost of ICs, the feasibility of digitally controlled dc-dc switching converters has increased significantly. This paper outlines a sampl...

A Markov switching position dependent random map is a random map of a finite number of measurable transformations where the probability of switching from one transformation to another is controlled by a position dependent irreducible stochastic matrix W . Existence of absolutely continuous invariant measures (acim) for a Markov switching position dependent random map was proved in [1] using spe...

A study on the bipolar-resistive switching of an Ni/SiN/Si-based resistive random-access memory (RRAM) device shows that the influences of the reset power and the resistance value of the low-resistance state (LRS) on the reset-switching transitions are strong. For a low LRS with a large conducting path, the sharp reset switching, which requires a high reset power (>7 mW), was observed, whereas ...

The newly developed phase-shift controlled bidirectional DC-DC converter has the conventional features of phase-shifted converters, including zero-voltage switching (ZVS) and constant switching frequency. However, it has been improved by developing a bi-directional power flow capability and applying synchronous rectification, hence the on-state voltmge drop of the active devices are small.

We demonstrate current self-complianced and self-rectifying bipolar resistive switching in an Ag-electroded Na-doped ZnO nanowire device. The resistive switching is controlled by the formation and rupture of an Ag nanoisland chain on the surface along the Na-doped ZnO nanowire. Na-doping plays important roles in both the self-compliance and self-rectifying properties.

Stable, reversible conductance transitions and memory effects were observed in solid-state rotaxane-based Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) thin films. Taking advantage of the switching property, we have achieved reproducible nanometer-scale recording dots on rotaxane LB films via voltage application using a scanning tunneling microscope probe. The stable and easily controlled conductance switching makes ...
