In this paper we propose a simple model for the bursty operation of digital subscriber line (DSL) modems. Based on this model, we derive a power spectrum density (PSD) for the bursty crosstalk. This analysis suggests that both the duty cycle and the bursty activity rate must be optimized when bursty crosstalk is used to increase the performance of crosstalk-limited systems.

Optical cross-connects are one of the most important components in the dense wavelength division multiplexer based optical networks. The crossconnects suffer from crosstalk due to the different wavelength light path channels during the switching process leading to the deterioration in bit error rate (BER) and hence in the system performance. This paper presents the study of impact of coherent a...

AbstractThe aim of this paper is to carry out an analysis of optical network by calculating bit error rate (BER) as a function of signal to noise ratio by using Hermitian polynomial for different homodyne crosstalk levels. The results have been plotted for different crosstalk level for BER as a function of single to noise ratio (SNR) by using exact analysis and Gaussian approximation and the re...

The traditional optical pickup actuator model based on the assumption that the actuator spatial magnetic field distributes uniformly ignores the crosstalk characteristic among the movements of different directions. Crosstalk characteristic is a key factor that affects the actuator dynamic property and, consequently, the accuracy of reading and writing operation in the future higher density opti...

Crosstalk noise is a crucial factor affecting chip performance in deep submicron technologies. Among all possible crosstalk noise sources, clock is the most common aggressor as well as victim..Crosstalk on clock nets can increase clock jitter, which may degrade significantly the system performance. It is therefore imperative to design clock buffers to reduce the coupling effects. In this paper,...

Lateral crosstalk in CMOS imaging arrays deter effective utilization of small pixel sizes (e.g., 5 0 m 5 0 m) now permitted by technology scaling. A simple measurement setup for empirical characterization of lateral crosstalk in CMOS image sensors is presented. A demonstration of deblurring operations based on the obtained blur model of lateral crosstalk is also provided. Several well-known lin...

In deep submicron technologies, the noise introduced on signals through the crosstalk coupling is an emerging problem. This paper presents a new analytical MOS transistor model valid in all regions of operation and dedicated to crosstalk noise evaluation and review some useful methods and related work on crosstalk analysis. The same MOS transistor model can be used for the victim and aggressors...
