Mechanical foundations and pavements design need a perfect prediction of the response of the material to reach a reliable and safe structure. This work deals with the thermoelastic response of microbeams rested on a two-parameter viscoelastic foundation due to a magnetic field in the context of the dual - phase lag thermoelasticity model. The solutions of the governing equations are attained us...
A two-dimensional mathematical model of the thermoelastic state has been built for a circular plate containing curvilinear inclusion and crack, under action uniformly distributed temperature across entire piece-homogeneous plate. Using apparatus singular integral equations (SIEs), problem was reduced to system two first second kind on contours crack inclusion, respectively. Numerical solutions ...
Uniqueness and spatial stability are investigated for smooth solutions to boundary value problems in non-classical linearised and linear thermoelasticity subject to certain conditions on material coefficients. Uniqueness is derived for standard boundary conditions on bounded regions using a generalisation of Kirchhoff’s method. Spatial stability is discussed for the semi-infinite prismatic cyli...

We consider a 3-dimensional conductor containing an inclusion that can be represented as a cylinder with fixed axis and a small basis. As the size of the basis of the cylinder approaches zero, the voltage perturbation can be described by means of a polarization tensor. We give an explicit characterization of the polarization tensor of cylindrical inclusions in terms of the polarization tensor o...
We present a new adaptive hp-FEM for linear thermoelasticity where each displacement component and the temperature are approximated on different meshes which are equipped with individual energy-based adaptivity mechanisms. We demonstrate that the multimesh hp-FEM can capture individual behavior of every solution component more efficiently than standard hp-FEM. AMS subject classification: 35B50,...
In this paper, by using Nagy-Foias-Foguel’s theory of decomposition of continuous semigroups of contractions, we prove that the system of linear elasticity is strongly stabilizable by a Dirichlet boundary feedback. We also give a concise proof of a theorem of Dafermos about the stability of thermoelasticity.
