Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) isolated from several pathogenic marine vibrios was utilized in studies of base composition and nucleotide sequence relationships. Patterns of relatedness inferred from DNA criteria were found to correlate closely with those inferred from morphological, physiological, and serological analysis of the same organisms. The utility of the phenotypic and genotypic approach...

Adleman demonstrate that we can deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) strands to solve an instance of the Hamiltonian path problem (HPP). One year later, Lipton solved another NP hard problem. In this paper, we use this model for developing a new DNA algorithm to solve longest and shortest path with forbidden pairs. Our algorithm works in polynomial time.

The majority of the deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) of superinfecting T4 bacteriophage which is injected and not hydrolyzed does not attach to host cell membrane. Low levels of association of secondary phage DNA with membrane appear to be related to temporal genetic exclusion.

With two-dimensional restriction enzyme analysis we have been able to cleave the Bacillus subtilis genome and resolve the resulting deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) segments into discrete bands on agarose gels. A general procedure for gene purification has been developed by coupling multidimensional restriction analysis with a biological assay for gene detection. The organization of ribosomal ribonu...

Dermatophytes are a group of keratinophilic fungi falling within the genera of epidermophyton, microsporum and trichophyton. The genus trichophyton is particularly important and complex which comprises at least 24 recognised species. Additionally, molecular strain typing of trichophyton rubrum isolated within single nail specimens from patients with onychomycosis indicates involveme...

Bacillus subtilis carrying an inducible defective phage is several times more sensitive to thymineless death than a mutagenized derivative that behaves as a nonlysogen. When the integrity of the deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) of both strains was examined during thymine starvation by transformation experiments, sedimentation studies, and measurements of acid-soluble DNA degradation products, it was...

Residual activity of thermally denatured transforming deoxyribonucleic acid from Haemophilus influenzae. J. Bacteriol. 89:1271-1279. 1965.-The level of residual transforming activity of heated deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) (i.e., 1 to a few per cent of native DNA-transforming activity) was found ...
