Epidermoid cysts of the ovary are rare lesions and are uniformly incidental findings in hysterectomy specimens. They must be differentiated from mature cystic teratomas of the ovary, and some authors believe them to be monodermal teratomas. The histogenesis is still uncertain. Epidermoid cyst is commonly known as sebaceous cyst. It is the most commonly encountered cyst of the skin. Epidermoid cyst over the breast is uncommon. Punctum is the hallmark for clinical diagnosis. Local excision with primary closure is the treatment of choice. Biopsy is mandatory in giant cyst to exclude malignancy.
