Appropriately doped perovskite oxides of manganese such as La2/3Sr1/3MnO3 (LSMO) are ferromagnetic metals in which the conduction electrons tend to be 100% spin polarised [5]. It is therefore desirable to fabricate CNT devices with LSMO electrodes. However, to integrate these two very different material systems into a single device is challenging since their growth conditions are potentially mu...

In this paper we study a model of ferromagnetic material governed by a nonlinear Laudau-Lifschitz equation coupled with Maxwell equations. We prove the existence of weak solutions. Then we prove that all points of the !-limit set of any trajectories are solutions of the stationary model. Furthermore we derive rigourously the quasistatic model by an appropriate time average method.

The Cr-based tellurides are attractive material systems for fundamental studies and potential applications. Colloidal syntheses of ferromagnetic Cr(2)Te(3) and CuCr(2)Te(4) nanocrystals with uniform morphology and narrow size distribution are reported together with their detailed magnetic characterisation.

Owing to a large diamagnetism, graphene flakes can respond and be aligned to magnetic field like a ferromagnetic material. Aligned graphene flakes exhibit emergent properties approaching single-layer graphene. Anisotropic optical properties also give rise to a magnetic writing board using graphene suspension and a bar magnet as a pen. This simple alignment technique opens up enormous applicatio...

We have developed a convenient strategy for preparing color-tunable fluorescent-magnetic core/shell multifunctional nanocrystals, which exhibit excellent photoluminescence (PL) properties (fluorescing tunably from 550 nm to 630 nm by modifying the shell thickness) and ferromagnetic material properties (a magnetization of 4.4 emu g(-1) and a coercivity of 95 Oe).

The steady state of a magnetization M of a ferromagnetic sample Ω was first described by Landau and Lifschitz as the solution of a certain minimization problem, which is nowadays accepted as the relevant model to describe micromagnetic phenomena. For uniaxial material with easy axis e1, the free micromagnetic energy reads E(M) = d ∫

We suggest and demonstrate via large scale numerical simulations an electrically operated spin-wave inducer based on composite multiferroic junctions. Specifically, we consider an interfacially coupled ferromagnetic/ferroelectric structure that emits controllably spin waves in the ferromagnets if the ferroelectric polarization is poled by an external electric field. The roles of geometry and ma...

In this paper a simple model calculation of spin wave is given for the ferromagtic layer in ultra thin ferromagnetic/antiferromagnetic bilayer. In this model the magnetic layer is assumed as an isolated layer but the effect of antiferromagnetic layer on ferromagnetic layer and unidirectional anisotropy, is given in the effective field applied on each spin. The thin layer is assumed as two-dim...

We show that the Maximum Entropy principle (E.T. Jaynes, [8]) has a natural description in terms of Morse Families of a Lagrangian submanifold. This geometric approach becomes useful when dealing with the M.E.P. with nonlinear constraints. Examples are presented using the Ising and Potts models of a ferromagnetic material.

Thermal fluctuations in the magnetization of interstellar grains will produce magnetic dipole emission at ν ∼< 100 GHz. We show how to calculate absorption and emission from small particles composed of material with magnetic as well as dielectric properties. The Kramers-Kronig relations for a dusty medium are generalized to include the possibility of magnetic grains. The magnetic permeability a...
