Please cite this article in press as: J. Mai et al. Traffic sampled from the network backbone using uniform packet sampling is commonly utilized to detect heavy hitters, estimate flow level statistics, as well as identify anomalies like DDoS attacks and worm scans. Previous work has shown however that this technique introduces flow bias and truncation which yields inaccurate flow statistics and...

We discuss the kernel spectrum, locality properties and the axial-vector renormalization constant of UV-filtered overlap fermions. We find that UV-filtered overlap fermions have a better conditioned kernel, better locality and an axial-vector renormalization constant closer to 1 than their unfiltered counterparts, even if the shift parameter ρ is simply set to 1.

A modification of the kernel estimator for density estimation is proposed which allows the incorporation of local information about the smoothness of the density. The estimator uses a small set of bandwidths rather than a single global one as in the standard kernel estimator. It uses a set of filtering functions which determine the extent of influence of the individual bandwidths. Various versi...

We construct Hodge filtered cohomology groups for complex manifolds that combine the topological information of generalized cohomology theories with geometric data of Hodge filtered holomorphic forms. This theory provides a natural generalization of Deligne cohomology. For smooth complex algebraic varieties, we show that the theory satisfies a projective bundle formula and A1-homotopy invarianc...

In this paper we examine a certain filtration on topological Hochschild homology. This filtration has the virtue that it respects the cyclic structure of topological Hochschild homology, and therefore it is compatible with the cyclotomic structure used to define topological cyclic homology. As an example we show how the skeleton filtration of a simplicial ring gives rise to spectral sequences s...

In this paper, we discuss on the existence of filtrations of modules having good properties. In particular, we focus on filtered homomorphisms called strict, and show that there exists a filtration which makes a filtered homomorphism a strict filtered homomorphism. Moreover, by using this result, we study purity for filtered modules over a Gorenstein filtered ring.

at the highest signal levels, the masking function for the off-frequency condition seems to become more linear. while some basilar membrane data show more linear growth at high levels, others do not. aim of the present study is to assess function of masking at high levels regarding its clinical appearance. in this experiment we evaluated the hearing thresholds of three different signals (wide-b...
