Before handing out my midterm exam the Thursday before Spring Break, unease in classroom was palpable. I questioned, is it right thing to do give a now? Two days prior we learned online instruction would begin week after spring break for and possibly longer. This an unprecedented scenario. never took seminar titled, How Continue Teaching During Pandemic. resolved myself with attitude of we’ll g...
GRACE is a large-scale diagramming tool constructed with the aid of automated tools from the Design Maintenance System (DMS ). Diagramming tools as a component of meta-case tools are common in the development of new software engineering projects. The design and development of GRACE addresses the development of a large-scale diagramming tool for the software maintenance area. The nature of legac...
Grace is a graph-aware, in-memory, transactional graph management system, specifically built for real-time queries and fast iterative computations. It is designed to run on large multi-cores, taking advantage of the inherent parallelism to improve its performance. Grace contains a number of graph-specific and multi-core-specific optimizations including graph partitioning, careful inmemory verte...
We motivate and describe an analog evolvable hardware design platform named GRACE (i.e. Generative Robust Analog Circuit Exploration). GRACE combines coarse-grained, topological circuit search with intrinsic testing on a Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) field programmable device, the Anadigm AN221E04. It is suited for adaptive, fault tolerant system design as well as CAD flow applications.
We formulate the data analysis problem for the detection of the Newtonian waveform from an inspiraling compact-binary by a network of arbitrarily oriented and arbitrarily distributed laser interferometric gravitational wave detectors. We obtain for the first time the relation between the optimal statistic and the magnitude of the network correlation vector, which is constructed from the matched...
This talk re-examines some of the evolving interaction between hyperbolic geometry and low-dimensional topology, focussing in particular on some contributions of Murray Macbeath to surface topology.
