Acetylene-linked macrocycles incorporating multiple perylene tetracarboxylic acid bisimide (PBI) chromophores have been synthesised and separated by recycling GPC. The very first example of such macrocycles, i.e., cyclic trimer 5, containing three PBI dyes self-assembles into highly ordered donut-shaped unique hexagonal nanopatterns on HOPG surfaces as revealed by atomic force microscopy (AFM).
A construction of hexagonal shaped 8-point QAM called H8QAM is shown. It is shown that H8QAM constellation outperforms the conventional rectangular constellation and 8-PSK. Further, we construct H8QAM sequences having low peak-to-mean envelope power ratios (PMEPR) from QPSK Golay sequences. Various upper bounds on peak envelope powers of these sequences are evaluated.
Stable hexanuclear lithium phenolate bearing a cage-shaped tripodal ligand was isolated, which had a hexagonal-prismatic Li(6)O(6) core at room temperature, because of the hard mobility of the ligand and its reduction of the problematic steric repulsion. The properties of the lithium phenolates were analyzed by X-ray crystallography and NMR spectroscopy.
We demonstrate a novel technique for instituting complex and arbitrary shaped micron-scale domain patterns in LiNbO3 at room temperature. Fabrication of continuous domains as narrow as 2 microm across and hexagonal patterns of the same order accompanied by real time visualization of the poling process are presented.

Non-hollow In(2)O(3) particles with hexagonal rod- and disk-shapes are generated from the calcination of porous CPPs; however, elongated hexagon-, ellipsoid-, and rod-shaped hollow In(2)O(3) particles are formed from the calcination of non-porous CPPs.
